Honouring 30 Years Through Community Legacy
IIn 2024, Atlas Pearls proudly celebrated 30 years of sustainable pearl farming - a milestone that reflects not only our dedication to ethical practices but also the deep relationships we’ve built with the communities surrounding our farms.
To honour this legacy, we committed to a series of community-led infrastructure projects across the villages where our eight farms operate throughout the Indonesian archipelago. These initiatives were designed to create lasting impact—addressing urgent needs, strengthening village life, and supporting families for generations to come.
A Legacy of Commitment
Each farm team faced the meaningful challenge of selecting projects that would make the greatest difference. In close collaboration with local leaders and residents, Atlas Pearls supported 16 initiatives across Alor, Alyui Bay, Banyubiru, North Bali, Lembata, Loang, and Pungu.
The projects were diverse, reflecting the unique needs of each region. In Alyui and Banyubiru, village health clinics were refurbished to provide safe, reliable spaces for maternal care and frontline services. In Lembata and Loang, families gained access to running water and sanitation for the first time transforming daily life. In Alor and Bali, vital community infrastructure such as village offices, halls, temples, cemeteries, schools, and waste facilities were strengthened to support governance, culture, health, and social connection. And in Pungu, a new generator and power network restored electricity to homes, schools, and mosques bringing light and energy back to the heart of the village.
Local workers and suppliers were engaged wherever possible, ensuring that each project not only delivered practical improvements but also created employment and empowered communities from within.
These legacy projects are a reflection of our enduring commitment to the people and places that make Atlas Pearls possible. Our success is deeply intertwined with the resilience and wellbeing of the communities around us. By investing in essential infrastructure, we’re giving back to the villages that have supported us and helping to shape a stronger, brighter future together.
