Those who Follow the Horizon

They are fathers, grandfathers, mentors, captains, craftsmen, and custodians of a unique way of life.

More than 30 years ago, pioneers such as Admiral Raden Panji Poernomo, affectionately known as Pak Poer, and marine biologist Dr Peter Purchas helped establish pearl farming operations in some of Indonesia's most remote coastal regions. Together, they embraced uncertainty, explored distant islands, and laid the foundations for a company shaped by adventure, resilience, and a deep connection to the sea.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

South Sea pearl farming is a delicate balance of nature and nurture as the company continues to strive to supply the best quality pearls to the market whilst leaving a positive environmental footprint.

Atlas Pearls has a longstanding commitment to supporting our villages, stakeholders, and communities around our farms. Recognising our role as both neighbours and key employers in our operational areas, we have embarked on the early stages of an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)/sustainability initiative. This will build on the foundation of existing data concerning our environmental impact and ongoing environmental initiatives as well as our social considerations and management systems.
